“A corrupt, illegitimate, and radical right-wing majority on the Supreme Court has carried out a brutal attack on women and fundamental rights in this country. Make no mistake, overturning Roe is a reckless ruling that will endanger people and strip away critical healthcare services – especially for low-income women of color. But the gang of right-wing extremists on the Court won’t stop until they roll back the clock and fully impose their backward vision of America. There is no bigger threat to our country, to our freedoms, to our liberties, and to the rule of law than this Supreme Court and history will know their shame. But future generations will also look to how Americans responded to an out-of-control government institution bent on accumulating power and restricting our rights. Let it be said that we organized, that we fought back, that we stood up for true justice that is equal in the eyes of the law. Today is a step back. But in the tomorrows to come, let we the people march forward unbowed, on the side of fairness.“
