New York, NY— In support of his doormen’s struggle for better pay, a High Line Area resident will be hosting this Tuesday and Wednesday the multimedia art exhibit Beneath the Rails: Working Under the High Line. Workers will share their stories about struggling to make ends meet in NYC in a pop-up gallery in their tenant’s apartment.

WHY: Chelsea resident Lowell Kern who lives in a building neighboring the High Line is hosting a multimedia art exhibit that local doormen from his building and a neighboring building have put together to share their experiences. “The doormen in my building are a huge part of why this is such a great place to live” he said. “I’ve been aware of their struggle and when I found out that they were putting together an exhibition about their experiences I wanted to get involved.” The doormen are sharing photo, video and their thoughts on what the people in the neighborhood mean to them and talking about their hopes for the future.
