BREAKING NEWS: TOMORROW’s JFK STRIKE BY SECURITY OFFICERS CALLED OFF

32BJ of the SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION

Security officers who work for Global Elite doing aircraft and ramp search and checkpoint monitoring duties at the John F. Kennedy International Airport have decided to call off a strike set to begin at 4 p.m. tomorrow. The workers are celebrating that their employer has committed to resolve the issues brought up by Shakira Lewis and Symone Ellis.

Global Elite reached out to 32BJ SEIU stating that it is taking the complaints filed by Ms. Lewis and Ms. Ellis seriously and will work on a fair process to resolve their pregnancy discrimination complaints filed with the New York City Commission on Human Rights.

Additionally, Global Elite has agreed on a process to recognize the security officers’ union 32BJ SEIU.
