The following statement can be attributed to Héctor Figueroa, President of 32BJ SEIU.
“Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination by President Trump is an affront to working people, LGBTQ, women, immigrants, people of color, and just about anyone who expects the highest court to uphold and expand rights, not take them away. Kavanaugh has spent his career ruling against working people in favor of wealthy corporations. He regularly sided with employers against working people. Working families need a Supreme Court that provides real checks and balances, not a blank check for corporations to rewrite the law to take away their unions, healthcare and voting rights. The Senate should refuse to confirm Kavanaugh and demand a reasonable nominee who represents the majority of Americans who believe in human rights and democracy.”
With 163,000 members in eleven states and Washington, D.C., 32BJ SEIU is the largest property service workers union in the country.
