32BJ SEIU Heralds Millner Re-election as Victory for Immigration Reform

NORRISTOWN–32BJ of the Service Employees International Union today celebrated the re-election of Marlon Millner to Norristown City Council.

Councilman Millner will provide the leadership Norristown needs to thrive in the 21st Century, Daisy Cruz, 32BJ SEIU Mid-Atlantic Director said today.

“By re-electing Marlon Millner, voters sent a message that they want a city council that stands up for working people,” said Cruz. “Councilman Millner will work hard to ensure that Norristown lives up to its reputation as a welcoming city. Councilman Millner recently spearheaded the effort to pass a city council resolution for comprehensive immigration reform. With Tuesday’s decisive vote, Councilman Millner will continue the fight for dignity and fair treatment for all Norristowners.”

32BJ is one of the largest unions in the country representing immigrant workers from over 60 countries. With 145,000 members in nine states and Washington, D.C., including 22,000 in Pennsylvania, 32BJ SEIU is the largest property service workers union in the country.
