32BJ SEIU Endorses U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez

Newark, N.J. –32BJ SEIU, one of the fastest-growing unions in New Jersey with 13,000 members, today announced its endorsement of Democratic U.S. Senator Bob Menendez, a champion for working people and immigrants.

“During his 12 years as a U.S. Senator, and in the decades before that as a dedicated public servant, Sen. Menendez has proven himself a leader on workers’ rights and immigration reform. As a ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Sen. Menendez recently introducedlegislation to keep immigrant families together,” said Kevin Brown, Vice President and New Jersey State Director of 32BJ SEIU. “32BJ members are committed to helping to re-elect the senator as a friend of labor and working families who will push for sensible laws that will strengthen our communities. He is the only choice for working New Jerseyans on Election Day, Nov. 6.”

Sen. Menendez said he was honored to receive the endorsement of 32BJ SEIU. “I am grateful to have the support of these hard-working men and women who keep our airports and buildings clean and safe and our school children well-fed,” Sen. Menendez said.
Menendez added that his campaign is “all about people power and I am humbled to have the backing of labor groups like 32BJ, who represent not just working families, but immigrant families who have for too long suffered at the hands of a broken immigration system.”
