NEWARK – Calling him a relentless advocate for working families and children, 32BJ SEIU today announced its endorsement of State Senator Ray Lesniak in New Jersey’s 20th Legislative District.
“Senator Lesniak has played a key role in advocating for 32BJ’s goals of safer communities, good jobs and better schools,” said New Jersey State Director Kevin Brown. “Elizabeth and the surrounding communities deserve a dedicated advocate like Senator Lesniak. He has earned our support.”
As a Senator, Ray Lesniak has

- Championed the Tax Incremental Financing Act, ensuring the creation of good construction jobs as well as good permanent jobs, such as the ones proudly done by SEIU 32BJ members.
- Championed expansion of access to Higher Education, both through the construction of new schools and access to Dreamer students who seek higher education in NJ schools.
- Championed the adoption of a Senate Resolution encouraging Congress to pass Common Sense Immigration Reform that includes a path towards citizenship.
“Senator Lesniak is looking out for working families,” said Mary Frances Cuadrado, a 32BJ member who lives in Elizabeth. “I’m proud to support a candidate who I know is on my side. “
