Providence, RI – Today, 32BJ SEIU, the largest property service workers union in the country, announced its support for Gina Raimondo for Governor of Rhode Island.
“We look forward to having a partner in the governor’s office who believes that workers should have a voice at work. Unlike her Republican opponent, who is ready to turn Rhode Island into a right-to-work-for-less state, Gina Raimondo is concerned with the widening gap between rich and poor and understands that labor has an important role to play in rebuilding an economy that works for all. From her support for increasing the minimum wage to her strong commitment to immigrants’ rights, Raimondo has demonstrated that she is the clear choice for working people in this race,” said Roxana Rivera, Director of 32BJ SEIU District 615, which represents more than 18,000 property service workers in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
“We are looking forward to supporting Raimondo’s candidacy with our robust field operation, said Rivera. “We are planning to mobilize and communicate with our members and their communities online, by mail, on the phone and in person and discuss why Raimondo is the strongest candidate in this race.”
