32BJ SEIU ENDORSES JOHN MANCUSO

NEW YORK—The executive board of 32BJ SEIU has endorsed John Mancuso for City Council. He is running to serve the 50th District, which includes parts of Staten Island and south Brooklyn.

Mancuso has a record of advocating for good jobs and strong communities.

“We believe John Mancuso will help lead the fight for affordable housing and decent jobs that can support a family,” said Hector Figueroa, president of 32BJ SEIU. “The people of Staten Island and south Brooklyn deserve an elected leader with principals and passion who will represent their interests in the Council.”

Mancuso’s years of community service shows his commitment to the improving the lives of the young people of Staten Island, as well as its elderly residents, who deserve care and dignity. Mancuso has demonstrated his dedication to ensuring accessible health care, safe schools that have the resources they need to educate their students and good jobs that can help keep local communities strong and vibrant.

32BJ SEIU has 75,000 members in New York, and a total of 145,000 members in 11 states plus the District of Columbia. The union is in the midst of an extensive voter education drive, with canvasses and street events street as well as phone banks, mailings and community outreach.

 

With more than 145,000 members, 32BJ SEIU is the largest property service union in the country.
