32BJ SEIU Celebrates Victories in Trenton and Newark

New Jersey – The following statement can be attributed to Kevin Brown, New Jersey District Director of 32BJ SEIU:

Eric Jackson Mayor of Trenton and Newark Councilwoman Gayle Chaneyfield-Jenkins should both be commended for their impressive victories tonight.

Eric Jackson has years of experience in Public Works and Urban Development to steer Trenton in a positive direction that can lift and propel the community forward by investing in the workforce through job opportunities, workforce trainings and economic development truly reflective of the needs of all Trentonians.

Councilwoman-at-large Gayle Jenkins has always stood by hardworking members of 32BJ. Her aim to help build a government that responds to the needs of the community is what we need in Newark. We look forward to working with the council to advance the agenda of working people in Newark.

Through their victories, security officers, commercial office cleaners, janitors, school workers and residential workers, will have allies in local government working towards a New Jersey more responsive to the needs of working families.

With 145,000 members in 11 states–including nearly 10,000 in New Jersey–32BJ SEIU is the largest property services union in the country.
