WHITE PLAINS, New York —Members of 32BJ SEIU in the Hudson Valley have endorsed Mike Spano for re-election as Mayor of Yonkers and Jennifer Puja for White Plains Common Council. The following may be attributed to Lenore Friedlaender, Assistant to the President of 32BJ SEIU.
“Mike Spano has earned the endorsement of our diverse membership for his commitment to the fair and dignified treatment of working people, immigrants and all his constituents in Yonkers, the fourth largest city in New York State. Mr. Spano demonstrated that commitment through two terms as mayor, and we are proud to support his candidacy in the upcoming Democratic primary on June 25.
“We are also proud to offer our support to Jenn Puja for election to the White Plains Common Council. For years Ms. Puja has stood up for working families in her capacity as Labor Council Director for the Westchester/Putnam Central Labor Body, bringing diverse unions together in the common cause of lifting working people.
“We are proud that our members have chosen to engage in get out the vote efforts over the coming days to help both candidates emerge victorious in their June 25 primaries.
