32BJ Announces 2019 Hudson Valley Endorsements

WHITE PLAINS, New York — Members of 32BJ SEIU in the Hudson Valley today announced their endorsements for the 2019 general election. With more than 175,000 members in 11 states across the East Coast and Washington D.C., 32BJ SEIU is the largest building service employees union in the nation, and of the largest with majority immigrant membership. The union’s 4,500 members in the Hudson Valley include janitors, security officers, residential building superintendents, country club groundskeepers and many others. The following statement may be attributed to Lenore Friedlaender, Assistant to the President of 32BJ and head of the union in the Hudson Valley.

“Elections matter: when we work to elect public officials like this bipartisan slate of candidate, we can get legislation passed like the amendments that strengthened the protections for subcontracted workers at the Westchester County Board of Legislators on Monday. These candidates have all stood with 32BJ members and the Westchester community in the fight for paid sick days and immigrant rights, as well as the stronger protections for building service workers against sudden job loss. They have committed to continuing this fight so that all working people in Westchester can thrive. We look forward to working toward their election from now through Election Day.”
