Before becoming President, Manny was 32BJ’s director of bargaining and Secretary Treasurer. He participated in bargaining every major agreement within the union, helping to win wage increases, shoring up members’ benefits and expanding protections for the 185,000 SEIU 32BJ members from NYC, D.C., Boston, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Kentucky, Connecticut, Florida and beyond. Manny cut his teeth helping to bring thousands of members into SEIU and 32BJ.

Secretary Treasurer

Before becoming Secretary Treasurer John Santos was elected Assistant to the President at 32BJ in September 2021. In that position he also served as New York Metro Director, a role he still holds. Previously, John served as Vice President, and led more than 35,000 residential building workers across New York’s five boroughs in their political work, worker organizing, and member representation programs.

Assistant to the President

Roxana Rivera has been organizing low-wage workers for nearly 25 years, fighting for workers’ rights and justice for immigrants. She was in charge of the New England region (615 and CT) and is now the Assistant to the President.

Kevin is Executive Vice President and Janitorial Division Director. He has been involved in the trade union movement since 1987, when he started working for SEIU as an organizer.

Jaime Contreras

Jaime Contreras heads 32BJ’s Capital Area District, which has over 20,000 members in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area and Baltimore, Maryland, and oversees the Florida district.

Rob joined 32BJ in June 2000 as lead organizer and was appointed as Director in fall 2005. He is currently the head of the Airports Division for 32BJ, sits on the SEIU Executive Board, and oversees the National Airports Organizing Campaign.

Executive Vice President

Denis has been a leader in the New York Metro Commercial and Security Divisions since 2005. Johnston’s maternal grandmother—Mary Bajowski, a Polish immigrant—was a 32BJ cleaner in lower Manhattan from the 1950s to the 1970s.

Gabe Morgan is Executive Vice President and 32BJ PA/DE State Director, which includes 21,000 workers throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware and the Mid-Atlantic, 1201 and Western Pennsylvania Districts.

Vice President

Israel started with 32BJ as a member in the NYM Security Division as a Shop Steward, after which he was hired by the union. Israel now serves as the Director of the NYM Security Division.

Helene O’Brien, originally from the Bronx, New York, has been an organizer of low to moderate-income workers for 35 years. For more than 10 years, Helene has worked with 32BJ members to make our Florida district the dynamic, fast growing, and victorious union it has become.

Rochelle Palache is Vice President of 32BJ SEIU. She joined the union after 10 years of political activism and union organizing. She is the district director for Connecticut.

Michael Pistone has been an NCFO member since he started at the Long Island Railroad in 1998. 2023 Mike was appointed Director of Railroads overseeing all railroad properties where the NCFO has members.

Sam Williamson has been a labor and community leader for over 20 years, focusing on workers’ rights, equitable economic development, affordable housing, climate justice and a living wage for all workers. Sam served as the Western Pennsylvania Area Leader of 32BJ SEIU 2014 to 2024, and in May 2024 was appointed Vice President overseeing PA, DE and KY.

Ana Maria Hill is the New Jersey State Director and Vice President of 32BJ SEIU. As a daughter of Mexican and Colombian immigrants, Ana Maria, grew up in a household where the goal was to achieve the American Dream, yet the daily struggle was to place food on the table. At Barnard College of Columbia University, she found her passion lied in improving the quality of life of working families in New York and gradually came to realize that the only way was through the labor movement and politics.
