The goal of 32BJ’s Labor Leaders of tomorrow Internship Program is to provide a meaningful experience for interns by fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment that empowers them to build on their existing skills and develop as future labor leaders. By working closely with 32BJ staff in their assigned department, interns will have the opportunity to learn directly from experienced professionals, gaining valuable mentorship, guidance, and hands-on skill-building opportunities. This experience will contribute to their growth within the labor movement, equipping them with the tools and knowledge to advocate for leadership, equity, and social change, while helping to create a brighter and more inclusive future for all.

Compensation and Details
This program will run for 10 weeks starting June 1st. This program is offered only at our NYC office location and daily attendance for the full duration of the program is required. Costs for relocating and housing are not offered. Participants will be compensated at $21 an hour.

- Assist in preparing member communication materials (PowerPoint/Canva presentations, email or text messages) for union members or workers who are part of organizing campaigns.
- Assist in creating graphics and visuals for social media and draft engaging social media posts to promote the union’s campaigns, events and member stories.
- Support organization of Communications Department’s assets (photos, videos, etc.) for future use.

- Process Dues and ADF Cards and update Members Union and demographic information in 32BJ member management database.
- Send email correspondence to Employers to obtain Members’ employment information.
- Update the member management database and provide copies of check off authorizations for employers to set up dues and ADF deductions in their payroll systems.
- Create workflows to update membership data attributes in the member management database across departments.
- Export reports to Excel to analyze and assess open workflows that need to be completed and/or escalated.
- Download images from the member management database to send to union staff upon request.
- Scan documents to the member management database.
