Nation’s Largest Property Services Union with 20,000 Frontline Workers in DC Area and Virginia Announce Delegate Endorsements in Virginia

Arlington, VA – Members of the Service Employees International (SEIU) 32BJ today announced their endorsement of incumbent Delegates Candi King, Kathleen Murphy, Jeff Bourne, Alfonso Lopez, Lamont Bagby, Betsy Carr, Ken Plum and Elizabeth Guzman. 32BJ SEIU represents 7,000 frontline janitors, security officers and airport workers in Virginia among over 20,000 in the D.C. area and 175,000 on the East Coast.

“These Delegates have a strong track record for helping to pass legislation that make real improvements in the lives of low-wage workers and immigrants in Virginia,” said 32BJ SEIU Vice President Jaime Contreras. “From a $15 minimum wage, access to drivers’ licenses and in-state college tuition for immigrants, to overtime protections for workers and a commitment to ensure that more men and women can join a union, their dedication to economic and immigrant justice is clear.”

With more than 175,000 members in 11 states, including over 20,000 in the D.C. area and Baltimore, 7,000 of whom live and work in Virginia, 32BJ SEIU is the largest property service workers union in the country.
