32BJ STATEMENT ON NY STATE LAW TO PROTECT IMMIGRANT WORKERS FROM HARASSMENT

Versión en español a seguir

The following statement can be attributed to Kyle Bragg, President of 32BJ SEIU:

“At a time when we are seeing relentless attempts from the White House to terrorize immigrant families and hinder their everyday lives, we applaud Governor Cuomo for signing into law legislation that protects immigrant workers against unscrupulous employers who issue threats to report workers or their family members to immigration authorities as retaliation or harassment when they exercise their rights to stand up for themselves against unfair and illegal work conditions. Like all New Yorkers, we believe that all workers who contribute to our communities must be treated fairly and must be supported in their demand for lawful, fair and just conditions for themselves and their coworkers.”
