NEW YORK—32BJ SEIU has voted to endorse Justin Wagner for State Senator in the 40th Senate District which covers parts of Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess counties.
“The members of 32BJ are proud to endorse Justin Wagner for New York’s 40th State Senate District because he stands for raising the minimum wage, creating jobs, and keeping families safe,” said John Santos, vice president of 32BJ SEIU and district director for the Hudson Valley district. “Justin’s commitment to struggling families and an understanding of advocating for working people are what make him the clear choice in the race for State Senator. Unquestionably, Justin Wagner is the only candidate who can bring real reform to Albany, and our members will work diligently to ensure that he is elected.”
The son of a special education public school teacher, Wagner values education and community involvement. After completing his undergraduate and law degrees at Georgetown University, he did pro-bono work for organizations like Oxfam America, the nation’s leading poverty relief organization. Wagner shares the same values of Hudson Valley residents and is dedicated to increasing the minimum wage, creating jobs, and reforming Albany.
With more than 145,000 members, 32BJ SEIU is the largest property service union in the country.
