NEW YORK—32BJ SEIU has endorsed Guillermo Linares for State Assembly. He is running for an open seat in the 72ND District, which includes Washington Heights, Inwood and Marble Hill.
Linares brings with him a commitment to creating good jobs and building strong communities.
“We believe Guillermo Linares will help lead the fight for affordable housing and decent jobs that can support a family,” said Héctor Figueroa, president of 32BJ SEIU. “The residents of northern Manhattan, where many of our members live, deserve an elected leader with principles and passion who will represent their interests in Albany.”
“Linares has a long track record of fighting for working families and for the rights of immigrant families,” Figueroa added. “As a former school teacher and education advocate, we know he will work to ensure access to quality schools for all New Yorkers.”
32BJ will mobilize its members to get out the vote for Linares. The union will also be phone banking, producing mailings and distributing leaflets to help educate the community on why Guillermo Linares is the best choice for Assembly.
With more than 145,000 members, including 75,000 in New York, 32BJ SEIU is the largest property service union in the country.
