32BJ SEIU Connecticut District Mourns the Tragic Passing of Representative Quentin “Q” Williams

Rep. Q was named Labor and Public Employees Committee Chair just last month. He died in a tragic wrong-way car crash late last night at age 39.

Statement of Rochelle Palache, Vice President of 32BJ SEIU, Connecticut District:

“The Connecticut district at 32BJ SEIU is in shock over the devastating news that our friend and partner in the labor movement, Representative Quentin ‘Q’ Williams, passed away last night. His loss is nothing short of tragic. Our thoughts are with Rep. Q’s family and friends, and we wish them peace and healing during this time of extraordinary grief. We are also thinking of Q’s colleagues in the Connecticut State House during this difficult time, where Q was committed to equity and justice for working people. Many of us were fortunate to spend time with Q at the Connecticut Governor’s Ball last night, where he told us how excited he was to lead the Labor and Public Employees Committee as Chair. Connecticut’s workers mourn the loss of a staunch ally and partner in our fight, but his legacy will live on.”
