NEW YORK—32BJ members announced on Monday their endorsement of Laura Curran for Nassau County Executive.
“We are proud to endorse Laura Curran to be Nassau’s next County Executive. Laura has been a strong supporter of issues that matter to our members,” said 32BJ President Héctor Figueroa. “On May 1st, she joined our members and allies to stand against hateful anti-worker and anti-immigrant rhetoric and policies. She also stood with low-wage workers in fast food and other industries to push for a statewide $15 minimum wage. We know she will continue supporting progressive policies when she is our next Nassau County Executive.”
32BJ members met with Curran, a Nassau County legislator representing Baldwin, and other candidates before making their endorsement.
With 163,000 members in eleven states and Washington, D.C., including 2,200 who live and work on Long Island, 32BJ SEIU is the largest property service workers union in the country.
