Hartford, CT – 32BJ, the nation’s largest property services union is endorsing Mayor Pedro Segarra for reelection as Mayor of Hartford.
“Working families need strong champions like Mayor Segarra who are unafraid to tackle difficult issues and deliver real improvements in public education, creation of good jobs and respect of immigrant rights. Pedro Segarra is the Mayor that our vibrant city needs,” said Juan Hernandez, Connecticut State Director for 32BJ SEIU. “There’s no doubt that Pedro Segarra has shown leadership and commitment to making sure that the City of Hartford works for working families. His strong support of fast-food workers fighting for $15 and his commitment to offer municipal IDs to all of Hartford residents set him as a leader we all can be proud of.“
Juan Hernandez, Mayor Segarra and a group of the union’s members will make the announcement at a press conference Monday at 32BJ’s offices at 196 Trumbull St # 4, Hartford, CT 06103 at 10AM.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the hardworking people that 32BJ represents,” Mayor Segarra said. “32BJ is at the forefront of the fight for good jobs and equality. I look forward to working with them side by side, especially in the immigrant community, to create a more fair and just society.”
