32BJ HARTFORD/NEW HAVEN CONTRACT VICTORY

Your 32BJ Bargaining Committee has reached a tentative agreement for a new commercial contract!

We are pleased to unanimously recommend for ratification a new four-year Collective Bargaining Agreement.

This Agreement provides:

  •  $3.10 wage raise
  • Protect our superior health benefits with no employee contribution to Welfare premium cost
  • A 12% increase to the pension.
  • A 13% Increase to the training fund.
  • Juneteenth as a paid holiday

Wages

Health Benefits:

They have agreed to maintain the contribution rate over the term of the Agreement. We have successfully protected our healthcare for the next four years.

Pension Benefits

We maintained pension benefits in the City, with a total hourly contribution 80 cents per hour with a 5 cent raise in 2024 and a 5 cent raise 2025 for a total 90 cents per hour in pension benefits. In similar fashion, Suburbs maintained and raised pension benefits, with a 5 cent raise in 2024 and a 5 cent raise in 2025 for a total of 55 cents per hour.

Holidays, Vacation, and other Improvements

  • Add Juneteenth as a Paid Holiday.
  • Won an extra sick day or personal day for all members.
  • Protect the Training Fund and Legal Fund for the duration of the Agreement and establish a labor management committee to improve implementation of the Training Fund.

Nationwide Sign-One, Sign-All

All employers covered by our Agreements agree that they will abide by all area-wide union contracts negotiated by SEIU anywhere in the United States.

Additional Improvements Negotiated

  • Improve non-discrimination language, including reference to the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act.
