NEW YORK— 32BJ SEIU, the largest property service union in the country, announced today endorsements in five Congressional races in New York City. Union members are focused on electing progressive candidates to represent New Yorkers in Washington, DC, to win back the House of Representatives from Republican control.
The endorsed candidates are:
Perry Gershon (District 1)
Liuba Grechen Shirley (District 2)
Max Rose (District 11)
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (District 14)
Antonio Delgado (District 19)
“The upcoming elections are a crucial opportunity to elect candidates who will stand up for the values and needs of New York’s working families and against growing anti-worker and anti-immigrant policies and actions,” said 32BJ President Héctor Figueroa. “We want candidates who will continue and reinforce New York’s role at the forefront of the fight against policies and practices of the Trump administration that target vulnerable communities. Our members are already working hard to support candidates who commit to stand up for racial and environmental justice, to fight for our immigrant communities, including protection for those with Temporary Protected Status, and to protect the rights of workers to come together in unions to improve their lives.”
