Even though U.S. Security failed multiple performance tests—including tests involving weapons detections—the company is still the security contractor at more than 76 schools and municipal buildings. This year alone, the District has already fined the company 26 times for violating security and contract requirements.
D.C. taxpayers pay U.S. Security more than $40 million dollars a year to protect our schools and city buildings, but the company is not making the grade. The Fenty Administration should put U.S. Security’s contracts out to bid.
